Update at 13 June

It is now only one week to Run for All and most group members are making their final preparations!  Good luck to all our runners.  The final week of the Season One of the Run in Leeds groups will be the week after the race i.e. 20-23 June.

However, groups will restart the following week with the opportunity for new members to join.  Click here to find out about the new groups starting 27-30 June.

Update at 13 May

There are now only 5 weeks to Run for All but if you want some last-minute training tips, and tips for the week leading up to the race and for race day than come along to one of our groups.

Horsforth is full but all the other groups still have vacancies.  Please see below!

Most groups will start a new “season” in late June or early July leading up to several races in the Leeds area in September and October.  More details to appear here soon!

Run in England

Run in England say - “We're making running available and accessible for everyone, with running groups being created for women and mixed gender, schools, work places and families. Our programme is about helping you to exercise every week no matter your age, shape, size or ability. There are groups for you to run with being created all over the country and trained Run in England group leaders to support you through those first steps - all at your own pace with no competition. So why not run with us for some fun in a safe and social environment, and you can join with friends, family or colleagues.”

For more information about Run in England, see

There are already over 300 Run in England groups around the country, but only one in Leeds until now …

Run in Leeds

“Run in Leeds” is the name we have given to 7 new “Run in England” groups starting in the Leeds area in 2011:

  • Run at Leeds Clubs – six groups at various locations round Leeds, on various evenings, starting the week commencing Monday 28 March 2011.  These groups are supported by the Jane Tomlinson Run for All races, in particular the race in Leeds on 19 June 2011.
  • Run in Leeds Parks – one at Roundhay Park on Saturday mornings may start later in the year, supported by Leeds Parks Department.

Run in Leeds Parks

This may start later in the year in Roundhay Park on Saturday mornings at 10:30a.m.

Run in Leeds groups are being led by athletics club runners who, unlike many Run in England group leaders, do this voluntarily and receive no payment.  However there is likely to be a small session (typically £1 or £1.50) charge to pay for the facilities (changing, showers etc) and to include a small contribution to club funds.

Run in Leeds groups are at athletic club venues but at different times from the club sessions. There is absolutely no requirement (and no pressure) to join the athletics club.

Jane Tomlinson’s Run for All and the Jane Tomlinson appeal

The Run for All series of three 10k races in Yorkshire is a major element of fundraising for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal.

The Jane Tomlinson Appeal was set up by a very determined Yorkshirewoman to help children's and cancer charities across Yorkshire, the UK and the globe.

Before her death in 2007 Jane Tomlinson CBE raised £1.85m through a series of incredible physical challenges.

Mike Tomlinson and his three children, Suzanne, Rebecca and Steven, now have set their sights on a £5 million target. With the generous help of Jane Tomlinson Appeal supporters, the £3 million raised to date is already being put to good use by those in need.

Please help the Jane Tomlinson Appeal to keep helping families in need.

Patrons and supporters of the Jane Tomlinson Appeal include Sir Matthew Pinsent CBE (four-time Olympic Gold Medallist), Nell McAndrew (sub 3:15 marathon runner), Steve Cram OBE (Olympic Silver Medallist), Chrissie Wellington (triple World Ironman Champion), and Tracey Morris (Olympic marathon runner from Leeds).
